CRISTALONIC Solar Quartz built or probably only assembled in "Munchen" (München / Bavaria) "W-Germany" (West Germany). One of the first LCD watches that used solar cells. Built probably between 1976-78. This is the goldplated version based on stainless steel case, case back and bracelet. Crystal is plastics. Original battery was a 10SL17 rechargeable cell, since this battery was dead i replaced it with a Varta "Spezial Akku" V40H NiMH 1,2V 43mAh - works fine and fits exactly. Amazingly, after all those years the old battery was not really dead, i tried a recharge for two days and it had still 0,8 volts - enough to keep the module itself running, but sadly not enough for the display at the same time when it was dark.
